Cut down on fat by not frying your bacon in margarine. This post goes against (a bit) what I'm promoting here on this blog, but I wanna share this anyw

I sinned today.

I seldom eat processed meat at home but today I really craved bacon so I bought some. When I got back home from the store I realized I didn't have any margarine or butter to fry the bacon in (because I rarely/never use the frying pan or eat bread at home). So I decided to fry them without margarine...

And what happened?

After a minute or two the frying pan looked like it contained a tablespoon of fat! After this point there was really no need to add any margarine...

So it got me thinking... Would the same happen if I fried hamburgers or other processed meat high in fat without margarine? PROBABLY.

So... the point of this health tip (which will benefit those who wants to cut down in fat): in order to be at least a tiny bit healthier when frying processed food - use less or none margarine at all if the meat your frying already contains a lot of fat. This goes especially for those who's using margarines that's high in saturated fat or trans fat which increases your cholesterol levels.

Frying in unsaturated fat like canola-, sunflower- or olive oil are, of course, always a better way to do it as these contains the kind of fat that is good for you.
